Our story

A baseball dad and software engineer who couldn't find the right tool, so he built it.

Teach Youth Baseball is a family business from Terre Haute, Indiana.

My son, the game's first tester.

I'm Chad Hollingsworth. I'm a dad first, a software engineer by trade, and I've been coaching baseball since my son was in T-ball. Those first seasons were mostly about keeping helmets on and making sure everyone ran to the right base. We've moved up together since then, and today I coach travel ball.

Every coach knows the moment. The ball is hit, and half the field freezes. Not because the kids don't care, but because nobody ever showed them where to go on that play. You can draw it on a whiteboard, walk it at practice and yell it from the dugout, and it still doesn't stick until the kids have seen it enough times to own it.

Every kid should know their job before the ball is hit.

So I built what I wished I'd had. First, a coach's playbook with one page per play and every position's job spelled out. Then laminated cards the kids carry on their belts. Then, because building software is what I do for a living, a game they can play at home, dragging fielders to the right spot until it's second nature. I built it with the same care I'd want for my own kid.

My own son was the first tester. He loved it, and he kept asking to play "one more." When other coaches saw their kids get it, they wanted it for their teams too. That's how Teach Youth Baseball started.

Everything here comes from a real dugout and a coach who also writes the code, not a boardroom. The book, the cards and the game all use the same plays and the same numbers, so what kids learn on the couch shows up on the field.

When you order from us, you're not buying from a big company. You're supporting a small American business and a baseball family that spends its weekends at the same ballparks you do. We'd be proud to help your team.

See you at the field,

What we believe

Kids learn by doing

Seeing a play once isn't enough. The book, the cards and the game give kids the reps they need to make it automatic.

Coaches are volunteers

Most of us coach because we love it, not because we have time to spare. Everything we make has to save a coach time.

Kids' privacy comes first

First names and PINs, no ads, and we never sell data. We built the game for our own kids, and we treat yours the same way.
